But today is not tomorrow

Author’s Note: Some days are just harder than others.

Content warning: Depiction of struggles with chronic illness and health.

Today,

I am a mountain of issues,

pebble upon pebble,

stacked up to the empty sky.

Tomorrow,

I will be a mountain of strength,

stone set upon firm stone,

built up to the sunny sky.

Today,

I am a fountain of tissues,

droplet upon droplet,

drowned deep with my aching bones.

Tomorrow,

I will be a fountain of smiles,

happy upon happy,

flushed deep to my joyful bones.

Tomorrow.
