Faceless Pirates

Author’s Note: Written while my dad was being targeted by hackers last year. Watching the news recently brought it to mind.

Content warning: Mention of data theft and hacking, target of the vulnerable.

Faceless pirates

Sitting in a dark room

Stealing digital accounts.

Easy targets

The elderly, the young.

Taking because they can.

No souls, no morals,

Just greedy for money.

Nothing justifies their theft.

Hate is useless

Sitting here feeling hurt

Hurting but not powerless.

Karma will come

Stealing what they’ve stolen

Dealing a worldly justice.

Karma will come.
