a sweet comfort
my hurt heart craves.

Wrap comfort blankets and just be
in the moment,
embracing me.

I sleep away these hours in bed;
in soft dreaming,
my old soul heals.

The silence gifts to all who dare,
a quiet peace;
my thoughts are mine.

The future stretches out ahead
a blank canvas;
a life to live.

In reflection I am aware
the world turns still
