I cannot go to war

Pick up a gun and shoot

Nor shield the innocent

From harm with my body.

I have no strength to fight

I’m no Wonder Woman

Walking a battlefield

To right this wrong today.

I cannot soothe the fears

Of bombs and hurt and blood

Caused by tanks rolling

Into streets, down roads.

I can only send my aid

Give to those who brave

To provide food and help

Ease the pain of children.

I am only a woman

Praying into the dark

For one last miracle

That saves us all.
